Chapter 108.2. Management Meeting!
-Miu’s POV-
“Yes, I did receive it. And, as I said, it’s about time they got suspicious. There have been a few rival factories that have been secretly harvesting the soil from Gardo Farm.”
“Even if you steal it, it’s useless. Quality Improvement Potion is effective against the land.”
“That’s right. It looks like the medicine is affecting the soil, but it’s affecting the space of the plantation where the medicine is sprayed. It’s truly magic.”
I reply with a shrug, and Odin takes up the conversation and tells me. He’s a grandpa who loves to verify items in every game.
“Our poor rival company is trying to get the secret by harvesting dirt and bribing our executives. Poor people, wasting their money.”
“I can just imagine the hard work of the scientists and magicians in the laboratories.”
Poor people. No matter how much money they pour into the budget, they will never know how this is all going to work out. I hope they’re not working sleepless nights.
“Word is slowly spreading by word of mouth it’s from the dungeon. I’ve instructed our clerks to tell customers when they ask if it’s from the dungeon, that we utilize soil from the abandoned dungeon site.”
Don’t deny it, but answer thoughtfully. We’ll leave the rest will to the customer’s imagination.
“They don’t taste as good as dungeon-grown. But they taste far better than ordinary vegetables, so customers will assume these are dungeon-grown.”
I can taste the flavor of a vegetable produced with Quality Improvement Potion as soon as I eat it. The cabbage is sweet to the core, the tomatoes are lush. They taste so good that even kids who don’t like vegetables will eat them.
.
“Well, they’re inexpensive and delicious. You can’t complain about this, can you?”
“Yes, it is. So, your father has proposed investing in Gardo Farm. He wants to take a stake in it and then buy it out later.”
“My papa?”
I’m surprised at what Frigg-oneesan, who smiles amusedly, is talking about. She’s acting so fast. Was dad that good at running a business?
“A rival company noticed. I guess the young lady’s father also thought that Gardo Farms had a secret technology.”
“Odin’s right. But still, we’re moving too fast. I’ve gone too far.”
“What did you do?”
I thought we had just formed a partnership. It’s not a capital tie-up, what did I do?
“I spread a few rumors in the Takano family about a person from a branch family who had talent but was being cold-shouldered. Yoshiyuki moved right in and put them to heavy use. We needed them to fill in the gaps in the Kazamichi faction since we had eliminated all of their executives.”
“So the people you pulled up were more capable than you expected.”
It’s quite a move to move so quickly to acquire a company just because the partner is a small venture. Ruthless, I know, but it’s also a business strategy.
But I can’t believe dad nodded his head at the suggestion. I’m a little shocked. From the outside, it seems ruthless. It’s a normal thing to buy out a venture company, though.
“He seems to have been convinced that it’s necessary for the future management of the restaurant chain. Yoshiyuki offered to hire the presidents of Gardo Farm as board members, so I guess you could say he’s a little kinder.”
“Even if the presidents of Gardo Farm, which will be worth more in the future, fall on the board of directors. …… Either way, you kicked the idea down the road, didn’t you?”
Gardo Farm is not publicly traded. It is 100% owned by investor F, who has full control of the company. The president and below are just hired hands. They have no hand in the actual management of the company.
“Of course. And how do you explain that? You can’t explain how the vegetables taste so good because you used items from the game, can you?”
Giggling, I nodded back with a wry smile at the bewitchingly smiling Frigg-oneesan.
“That’s true. I’d be in trouble if I believed you.”
The items in the game world are top secret.
“So, I counteroffered to buy a 5% stake in the Takano restaurant chain. Not just a venture, but to show that we have a well-funded investor behind us, and to create a strong connection with Gardo Farm by forming a capital tie-up.”
“Oh, how can you think like that? That’s what I’m talking about, Frigg-oneesan. So, did you accept the offer?”
“I did. Now we can get at least one of the board members to dive into the Takano restaurant chain. Now we can scale up a bit. We currently have 8 disposable dungeons and 68 employees. We should be able to expand our reach a bit more.”
Frigg-oneesan replies as if nothing is wrong. That must be easy for her. I clap my little hands. This kind of thinking is not possible for Mii-chan. It’s not like I was a president or anything in my previous life.
But to nail it down, you can’t take over, okay?
“I’d like to use this as a springboard to get into the transportation business. It would help a lot if we had the transportation business in our future activities. Well, I’ll figure out how to do that with the power of love and fertility.”
I don’t know why she says “love and fertility,” but I think it’s probably just a line from Frigg-oneesan, and I turn to Grandpa Odin.
“I’m next. I’ve created a weapons division, and by the young lady’s instructions to prepare a private army, I’ve analyzed magical tools for adventurers. The type that ordinary people can make, not us.”
“Oh! I’ve been waiting for it!”
I asked Grandpa Odin, wanting to help those adventurers who were not wearing magical armor. Weapons department crap is a long way off.
“Here it is.”
Miu leaned forward to look at the magic tools on the table. Hoho?
