Chapter 84 - Abduction Or Domestic Dispute?
Ji Yao stepped on his chest and looked down at him with contempt in his eyes. "Let me say it and let me say it once. The Rui siblings are off-limits and we as the concord do not sacrifice the innocent to further our agenda. Do you understand?" he said with his sword pointing at the man\'s neck. It was as though if he answered no he would be cut down right then and there.
A terrified but enchanted Ju Lang nodded his head. He knew Ji Yao was off-limits but this man was like an alluring poison that his father repeatedly warned him to stay as far away as possible.
This made it especially hard considering they were the same age. Unlike Ji Yao though he had to take over after his father got an inexplicable illness when he was fourteen.
Ji Yao withdrew his sword and walked back to his seat in slow strides. His eyes also returned to normal as his anger simmered down.
Of course, all this fell into Rui Fei\'s eyes. How could he obediently sit still in Rui Yewan\'s room which he had now taken over while a closed-door meeting was happening? Being the good little brother he was he decided to linger in the shadows as Ji Yao\'s backup just in case these people cause his Yao-ge trouble.
What he didn\'t expect was he and his siblings being brought up by that giant of a man. He was curious to see Ji Yao\'s reaction but who would have thought he would get more than what he bargained for?
When Ji Yao activated his seraphic energy his entire body froze subconsciously. Every hair in his body stood on end as an inexplicable rage stirred up in his aether. It was as though he was in the presence of an enemy. At first, he couldn\'t understand because he had never reacted this way to Ji Yao\'s seraphic energy.
That is until he realised there was a dominant type of seraphic energy mixed in with Ji Yao\'s regular seraphic energy that wasn\'t there before. He stood up from his crouched position on the roof with his amber coloured eyes turning red subconsciously.
His blood was boiling as he struggled to control his body\'s natural response. Every cell in his body was screaming kill or be killed like he was facing a challenger. As the saying goes \'there can only be one\'.
But this was Ji Yao and he would never do anything to hurt him. Scared that he might not be able to hold back and do something he would regret he leapt off the roof and disappeared into the forest.
Ji Yao naturally didn\'t know about this. He had just regained his composure and returned to the matter at hand. Deciding he couldn\'t trust Ju Lang he assigned him to implement the plan to screw with Emperor Yu\'s imports. He also teamed him up with Zhanglang and Zhang Li because he didn\'t want Zhang Ci around as they search for his mother\'s lair.
Thinking he was done tackling one problem he began to address the elephant in the room, a mission to rescue his father. Big Hei cleared the table as Ji Yao said, "Emperor Yu has nothing to do with Ji Wen\'s disappearance but he was a tool used to facilitate the kidnapping. It was Qilin Hao who took my father away so we have to come up with a plan to find her hideout," he said with a blank expression like he hadn\'t just said something mindblowing.
The entire hall fell into deafening silence. They had speculated amongst themselves before and for the first time Prince Rui was blamed for a crime he didn\'t commit. Who would have thought this kidnapping incident had turned into a domestic dispute?
Zhang Li naturally wanted in on this action. Why would he go on customs patrol when he could be in the peanut gallery for this lovers quarrel? It was for this reason he interjected after raising his hand like a middle schooler.
Ji Yao, "...."
After his hand was noticed he put it down and said, "Can I swap tasks with Lady Ching Sei?"
The lovely lady who was minding her own business, "..."
To be honest, she also wanted to be a part of this shit show. Sure, harassing merchants would be fun but not as fun as watching a live-action show of divorce court. Since Ji Wen was taken against his will it was bound to be interesting.
"She always brags about her great eyesight and that nothing ever goes past her so she would do a great job searching those ships..... ah, fuck," exclaimed Zhang Li after being hit by a set of bracelets. Those things seemed light but they were incredibly painful when thrown at that speed.
As expected the fight between these two escalated in no time with the rest placing bets on who will win. Ji Yao could now understand why his father was always in a terrible mood each time he returned from Xiehe. The fact that there was a no-killing rule made it worse but since this was his island, not Xiehe then that rule should be off the table, right?
Ji Yao\'s sword finally debut and it made sure to make it count. Whatever object that was thrown, flung or hurled was shredded to pieces by this flaming sword that was eager to show off its prowess. Once it was done it pointed at Zhang Li as it made a high pitched sound as though saying, "Take a good look. That could have been your throat bitch."
Okay, maybe this was the censored version of what it actually said. Who knows? The sword reluctantly withdrew sheathing itself in frustration. This made Ji Yao even more curious about why this sword had a personality or maybe it was just his illusion.
Just as he was considering asking Qilin Hao this question after snatching back his father the man dressed in a blue robe known as Lan Wu stood up in salutation. He knew fairly well that Ji Wen wouldn\'t want Ji Yao involved in this especially when he is going to use this bargaining chip to get Ji Wen back but what choice did he have? Things were already this way so why not?
He pursed his lips in hesitation but he still spoke his mind, "I know how to get Qilin Hao\'s location... we just need to find something she desperately wants and she will give up her location willingly."
Ji Yao, "..."
Well, this is going to be interesting.. Using the keystones as ransom was surely a controversial subject.
